To mark the 100th anniversary of Stuttgart Airport, rapper and music producer Maeckes has released a special tribute.
The artist from Kornwestheim, known as part of the hip-hop band "Die Orsons", turned one of his solo hits into the anthem "jettin' stuggi with it". In the song he mentions local references such as Leinfelden-Echterdingen and the "Manfred Rommel Airport" and describes the experience at the airport with humorous lyrics.
As early as July 2024, the airport was transformed into a film set: around 100 airport employees danced in a Eurowings plane and at various locations in the terminal during the filming of the music video. The airport fire brigade and travelers also spontaneously took part in the event.
Maeckes, who is also active as a producer and graphic designer, has enjoyed success in the German charts with his band “Die Orsons” and regularly works on projects in his hometown of Stuttgart. Most recently, he wrote lyrics for the upcoming production “Der rote Wal” at the Stuttgart Opera.
