The airport has to start cutting back: In the 2021 financial year, Dortmund Airport made a loss of 15,6 million euros.

The annual result, which continues to be shaped by the corona pandemic, improved by 2020 million euros compared to 6,2. In the second year of the corona pandemic, around 1,7 million passengers used Dortmund Airport for their journey. That would correspond to an increase of 39 percent, as the airport announced in a broadcast.

Third passenger check point planned

In addition, the Supervisory Board decided to set up a third passenger checkpoint in the terminal. The existing seven control lanes (control points A and B) will be supplemented by two more lanes in the east of the terminal. The new control point C is intended to enable faster processing – especially at particularly busy departure times.
