Green Airlines sold tickets without a contract with Just Us Air

Things seem to be going badly for charter marketer Green Airlines, as Alk Air withdrew its Boeing 5-2021 on July 737, 300, and Just Us Air will not be coming at all, even though Green Airlines pompously announced this carrier as an "additional airline partner." The charter marketer is unlikely to have many passengers anyway, and has thus managed the feat of not being able to fill the popular German destination of Palma de Mallorca during the summer holidays. No wonder, because they feel they have to seek competition from industry giants such as Eurowings. But that does not stop Green Airlines from informing the few passengers they had about the cancellation at ultra-short notice and leaving them stranded. The German specialist portal Airliners.de is now uncovering the next inconsistency: According to Just Us Air, Green Airlines never signed a valid charter contract. Nevertheless, the Karlsruhe-based startup simply dared to sell tickets via its homepage. Tickets for flights that will never take place due to the lack of a valid contract with the operating carrier. Just Us Air confirmed to Airliners.de that it has definitely not signed a contract with Green Airlines. The consequence of this is that the charter marketer has to cancel the flights for which it has already sold tickets. Tour operators were even naive enough to book tickets for connections that the operating carrier Just Us Air said it knew nothing about. Rostock Airport is now trying to find solutions in the interests of passengers and has set up a desk at its own expense to find flight connections for affected passengers.

Malta only allows vaccinated people in without quarantine

Holidaymakers who are not fully vaccinated against the corona virus can forget about their stay in Malta, Gozo and Comino from July 14, 2021. According to Health Minister Chris Fearne, the island republic will only allow fully vaccinated people to enter the country in the future. The EU vaccination certificates with QR code and the UK equivalent are currently accepted as proof. Children who travel with their vaccinated parents need a negative PCR result. In recent days, new Covid infections have increased in Malta and Gozo. Due to concerns about the Delta variant, it has now been decided that only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to enter without quarantine. Everyone else must go into isolation. There will still be some exceptions, but these are not really applicable to tourists. In recent days, various countries have tightened their entry regulations. For example, Slovakia only allows people who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus to enter without quarantine. The Czech Republic requires everyone else to have a negative PCR test. Germany has again classified Spain as a risk area and Cyprus as a high-incidence area. If you are neither vaccinated nor recovered, a beach holiday in Paphos or Larnaca can result in quarantine. The recent tightening of entry regulations, which more and more EU members are gradually implementing, clearly show that the Green Pass is a complete flop and is literally not worth the paper it is written on. The nation states are not even thinking about creating uniform travel conditions. Only fully vaccinated people actually benefit from this document, but those who have been tested and/or recovered are left behind and discriminated against in more and more countries. The promise that with the “green

Are you a sheep or a wolf? Vida criticizes sales pressure at Lauda Europe

Internal circulars from Lauda Europe and its predecessor Laudamotion always cause surprise. Most recently, the base supervisor responsible for Vienna put considerable pressure on cabin crew to sell. This caused a stir in the media across Europe. But in the spring, the same manager was already exerting pressure in a completely different way, demanding, among other things, that passengers be offered more alcohol. Aviation Direct reported at the time, based on the new "service plans", that the sale of alcoholic beverages was a particular priority and was to be carried out before all other products on many routes. The way in which base supervisor P., who was one of the ringleaders of the two demonstrations last year, tried to motivate and at the same time made threats, has been reminiscent of the methods used by door-to-door salesmen in recent months. For example, passengers should be "hunted" for more sales on board, i.e. offered pretty much everything and as often as possible. It was even written whether they wanted to be a sheep or a wolf. The Vida union considers the outbursts of the base manager responsible for Vienna to be intolerable. Department head Daniel Liebhart said: "If Michael O'Leary allows his employees to communicate in this way, it is very reminiscent of modern slavery and not of modern working conditions. This raises the question of whether O'Leary is the chairman of an airline or a hunting club? The billionaire O'Leary allows a climate of fear in his company. This even drives the employees to buy the goods from the on-board sales themselves in order to avoid losing their jobs.

Alitalia: Successor Ita applies for AOC

Alitalia's successor Ita should have been in the air for some time, but so far it has no AOC or operating license. There is a good reason for this, because the corresponding application was only submitted to the Enac authority this week. The authority confirmed that it had received all the necessary documents. The civil aviation authority is now examining the application, although this process could take around six months. According to the latest plans, Italia Trasporto Aereo is scheduled to take off in October 2021. It is still unclear under which brand Ita will fly. The Italian government wants to use the Alitalia brand, but the EU Commission is insisting on a tough cut. At best, the new company could acquire the brand rights at a public auction and then use them.

Germany is making Spain a risk area again

The Federal Republic of Germany has declared Spain - including the Balearic and Canary Islands - a corona risk area again. Under certain circumstances, this can trigger a quarantine on return. Nothing changes for those who have recovered and been vaccinated, except that the entry registration must be filled out again. People to whom this does not apply must at least show a rapid antigen test result. In principle, testing is also mandatory for non-risk areas by air, but this is extremely laxly monitored by the German authorities. Cyprus has even been declared a high-incidence area. At present, only random checks are carried out in Germany. Passengers entering from so-called virus variant areas are exempt from this. In this case, even vaccinated people cannot avoid quarantine, although in Germany - unlike Austria - there is no possibility of testing free in this category.

From Graz and Linz: European Air Charter now flies with the A320

The Bulgarian charter airline European Air Charter has previously served various warm water destinations from Graz and Linz on behalf of tour operators with McDonnell Douglas MD-82s. This week, the switch to the Airbus A320 model was planned, as this would increase capacity. However, the aircraft was replaced prematurely and not entirely voluntarily. On Wednesday evening, the pilots decided to make an emergency landing in Sofia because a technical defect occurred during the flight from Heraklion to Linz. This meant that one engine had to be switched off. As they were close to the home base in Sofia, the emergency landing was carried out there. The passengers were then transported to their Upper Austrian destination with the LZ-LAA. The MD-82 landed in Sofia safely and without problems. It was an advantage for the travelers that European Air Charter was able to use an Airbus A320 for the onward journey within a short time. The LZ-LAA then carried out the charter flights from Linz and Graz to Rhodes on Thursday. It will stay that way, because the exchange of the MD-82 for an Airbus A320 was planned anyway due to the increase in capacity. The LZ-LAA is 29,7 years old and was originally used in Cyprus. European Air Charter has been using this aircraft for several years. The seating does not give any indication of the age of the aircraft, as it has Recaro leather seats. Due to the corona pandemic, the tour operators have decided not to serve catering during the flight. The travelers are given two 0,5 liter water bottles. In view of the fact that many other tour operators and airlines

Photo gallery: New Graz lounge with relaxation zone

Graz Airport reopened the VIP lounge a few days ago. For official reasons, it was closed for a long period of time, but the opportunity was taken to give the exclusive waiting area a new look. Business travelers repeatedly criticized the fact that there were too few power outlets in this lounge. The emphasis is on “were”, because the airport has adapted to changing needs and has significantly increased the number of options for charging laptops, smartphones or tablet PCs. All devices whose plugs fit into the power outlets commonly used in Austria can be plugged in. Theoretically, that means a vacuum cleaner, but what traveler does that in a lounge? At the same time, the lounge has “grown”, because after the toilets there is now an additional room that is intended as a relaxation zone. There are sofa-like seats and loungers. But you don’t have to go without snacks and drinks here either, because a small basic selection is provided, meaning you can save yourself the trip to the main buffet. The motto of the Graz lounge is obviously based on comfort and well-being, as it uses surface material that is strongly reminiscent of high-quality sofas. The range of drinks and snacks has been expanded a little, but is adapted to the number of passengers at the respective times. In other words: no one has to leave the lounge hungry, but there are different options depending on the time of day. Important: In Graz, there is a special feature that holders of lounge access cards must first go to the information desk in the public area. There, frequent flyers receive a barcode with which they can then enter the exclusive waiting area. White
