BSL: New online tool for flight movement and noise statistics

EuroAirport's noise and movement statistics can be viewed on a specially developed internet platform at Basel-Mulhouse Airport. The airport's aim is to provide clear and transparent information. Basel-Mulhouse Airport has a network of 15 permanently installed noise measuring stations and one mobile noise measuring station, which are set up both at the airport and in the surrounding communities, the airport informs. The noise and associated flight movement statistics can now be viewed online in the newly published WebReporting. The data can be accessed retrospectively for up to ten years. They are regularly updated according to the respective reporting interval (monthly, quarterly, annually). In addition to the data mentioned, statistics on related topics are also included, such as special permits for night flights.

South Tyrol: Skyalps with seven winter routes

Skyalps, the in-house brand of Bolzano Airport, has now announced that a total of seven destinations will be served in the 2021/22 winter flight schedule. These are Brussels, Rotterdam, Copenhagen, London-Gatwick, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Berlin. The winter program, which is primarily intended to bring skiers to South Tyrol, will start in December 2021. From December 13, 2021, the destination Brussels will be served on Mondays and Fridays. The Rotterdam route is to start on December 15 and will be offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Copenhagen will be on the flight schedule on Saturdays and Sundays from December 15, 2021. London-Gatwick will also be served from this day, initially on Wednesday, although it is not yet entirely certain whether the second round will be on Saturdays or Sundays. Skyalps plans to connect Hamburg and Düsseldorf with Bolzano on Thursdays and Sundays from December 16, 2021. Berlin will be offered on Mondays and Fridays from December 20, 2021. All routes will be served with DHC Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. Since the airline does not have an AOC itself, these are formally charter flights operated by the Maltese airline Luxwing. Skyalps managing director Josef Gostner explained during a press conference that tickets on the winter routes will cost between 149 euros and around 220 euros. At the same time, he emphasized that they had said from the beginning that they would not build a low-cost airline.

Judge admits shareholder lawsuit against Boeing

A judge in the US state of Delaware has allowed a lawsuit brought by Boeing shareholders against the company's board of directors over two fatal crashes of the 737 Max. It has been proven that the board of directors lied about whether and how it monitored the safety of the 737 Max, the reasons for the verdict said yesterday. The first of the two crashes was a "warning" regarding a fault in the MCAS safety system, "which the board of directors should have heeded but instead ignored." The fact that the board of directors knowingly failed is also shown by the fact that at the time it declared that it had taken certain measures to monitor safety that it had not actually carried out. This is reported by the ORF. A total of 346 people died in the crashes. The 737 Max was banned from flying for 20 months by the US aviation authority FAA and can now take off again after an overhaul under strict conditions.

Austrian Airlines increases scheduled flights to holiday destinations

Next summer, some connections that are currently available as Austrian Holidays charter flights will be added to the scheduled route network. The holiday destinations Antalya, Catania, Ibiza, Keflavík and Mykonos, which were included in the domestic airline's charter program this year, can now be booked as regular Austrian flights for the 2022 summer season - Palma de Mallorca will even start in the 2021/22 winter season. Flights to Málaga and some of Naples have already been converted to scheduled flights. The change will enable closer integration with the rest of the Austrian route network, according to the carrier. As on all Austrian continental flights under three hours, Economy Class customers will also be offered the products of the recently introduced Austrian Melangerie on these routes in the future. From the end of October, Austrian will again fly several times a week to popular warm water destinations such as Mauritius and the Maldives as part of the 2021/22 winter flight schedule. Cancún on the Mexican Caribbean coast will be a new destination from October 24th.

Green Airlines wants to sell domestic German tickets from Weeze

The ticket seller Green Airlines plans to offer charter flights from Weeze and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden from February 14, 2022. These can currently be booked under fictitious flight numbers without specifying the operating carrier. The company, which has been criticized in recent months for various allegations, announced that it plans to sell flight tickets to Berlin from Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden. From Weeze, which it says it chose because of its proximity to the Netherlands, tickets to Berlin, Munich and Westerland will be offered. The route between Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden was loss-making for Air Berlin and served primarily as a feeder for the Berlin-Tegel hub. It is therefore not surprising that no airline has yet been found to reactivate this route. This route was originally set up by Germania Express and led to Tempelhof. After the Gexx flights were integrated into Deutsche BA and then into Air Berlin, they were moved to the Berlin-Tegel hub for strategic reasons. The competition in Weeze is dominated by Ryanair. Wizz Air was not successful at this airport, which is officially called Niederrhein Airport, and withdrew some time ago. Ryanair's offer, which primarily attracts particularly price-sensitive customers, is therefore dominant. There are also a few charter flights. Green Airlines wants to sell tickets for three domestic German routes. Given the competition from larger NRW airports such as Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn, this will be a very challenging undertaking. Although the sale of tickets only began on Wednesday, Green Airlines boss Stefan A. has already drawn the following conclusion in a press release: "Interest in the new

Fly4Africa: New airline based in Malabo

A new airline is expected to launch at the end of this year or early 2022 and has already started the certification process with the Malabo authorities. The company is backed by local businessmen who have an excellent track record with a diversified portfolio of investments. The entire project is led by well-known Spanish pilot and entrepreneur Angel Ronda. The latter hardly needs an introduction as she has flown extensively in Africa for Air Consul aboard her Piper Navajo. In addition, he was also one of the promoters of the Spanish virtual airline flyMellila, which proved to be a great success and gave ACMI provider Aeronova a quantum leap. Thanks to the agreement, Aeronova improved its AOC and added its first passenger with ATR aircraft. Angel Ronda is well known in the power corridors of major Spanish airlines, having worked closely with Air Europa, Wamos and Plus Ultra, to name a few. Between 2006 and 2008, he worked alongside Andreas Kaiafas on his then fledgling airline Cronos before moving to Weiden and focusing mainly on GSA and sales. With his excellent track record, Ronda was recruited by the government of Equatorial Guinea to revive CEIBA. Despite ordering new aircraft, Equatorial Guinea’s national airline did not have an AOC and the 3C register was blacklisted by the EU, making any air service between Malabo and Madrid almost impossible. In an exclusive conversation with MaviO News, the bubbly entrepreneur confided that all state-owned airlines in the region were affected by this malaise. Political interference was the main reason for the

STR aerial photo poster: State airport from a bird's eye view

The new 2021 aerial poster of Stuttgart Airport is now available. The large-format image is taken anew every year and shows the 400-hectare site with runway, terminals and air freight buildings. Parts of the neighboring communities are also shown. From year to year, it is possible to follow how the airport and the area around it are developing. The current image clearly shows a large construction site on the apron directly in front of Terminal 1. The concrete surface of the taxiways and parking positions is currently being renewed, a project in which a different area is tackled every year. As part of this gradual renewal, part of the runway was renewed last year - this was clearly visible on the 2020 aerial poster. The large construction site on the Messepiazza for the long-distance train station at the airport is also clearly visible. The second entrance to the future train station is being built next to the P 14 parking garage. The future ICE route is already emerging north of the A8 motorway. The U6 light rail line, which has been extended from Fasanenhof to the airport, is almost finished. The final stop is right next to the International Congress Center of the Stuttgart Trade Fair (ICS). From the end of 2021, the first U6 light rail lines are to stop at the airport. The color aerial photograph is about 85 x 58 centimeters in size and can be picked up free of charge at the airport company's headquarters (SkyPort, Flughafenstrasse 32, 70629 Stuttgart, Monday to Thursday from 8.00 a.m. to 16.00 p.m. and Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m.).
