The East German airport can look back on a successful 2022.

The number of passengers almost doubled compared to the previous year and reached 139.078. The busiest month was October with 25.400 passengers. Nine airlines, including Corendon Airlines, Corendon Europe, Albastar, Tailwind, Freebird, Smartlynx, Sundair, European Air Charter and Croatia Airlines, flew to holiday regions around the Mediterranean from Erfurt-Weimar last year. There were also special trips to Sicily, Bologna, Sardinia, Montenegro, Hungary, Croatia, Cornwall, the Channel Islands and the winter destinations of Tromsø, Kittilä and Kuusamo.

The most popular destination was Antalya on the Turkish Riviera. For this reason, the airport on the Turkish Riviera will be served daily, sometimes even several times a day, in this year's summer flight schedule. In addition to the standard routes, special trips to Venetia, Andalusia, Jordan and Great Britain, which are in high demand again, will also be included in the flight plan in 2023. The spa trips to Heviz and Debrecen in Hungary also start again from Erfurt, as the airport announced in a broadcast.
