Entry: South Africa waives the PCR test for those who have been vaccinated
South Africa, the first country to be hit by the Omicron wave, is making it easier for vaccinated people to enter the country. In future, they will no longer have to present a negative PCR test. Proof of a third vaccination is not necessary, as two jabs are sufficient. However, nothing changes for unvaccinated and recovered people. They must still be able to present a negative PCR result, which must not be older than 72 hours, at entry control. This regulation applies to all people aged five and over. There are exceptions for those below this age. Nothing has changed in the other regulations. This means that vaccinated people must continue to fill out this entry form. The authorities also expect the local Corona app to be installed. In addition, you must present proof of travel health insurance that is valid in South Africa. It is also useful if you can present, for example, the hotel reservation confirmation or other proof of accommodation.
