Asiana Airlines is increasing the frequency to Frankfurt

Asiana Airlines is increasing its frequencies on the Seoul - Frankfurt route from June 2022: The carrier will fly to the two destinations five times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Daily connections are also planned to resume from July 2022, as reported by the Swiss travel magazine About Travel. The flights will be operated with an Airbus A350-900. Lufthansa Aviation Training resumes training young flight pilots

Lufthansa Aviation Training is resuming pilot training. The newly organized Lufthansa flight school EFA is starting with 75 places - the group will double this capacity as early as 2023. The pandemic caught the Lufthansa flight school in the middle of its ramp-up - the group pulled the ripcord in March 2020 and stopped all ongoing training courses. After a two-year break, Lufthansa is resuming training young pilots with a new training concept. The most important change: "In future, training at the European Flight Academy will only lead to the acquisition of an EASA-certified ATP license," Lufthansa Aviation Training announced in a press release on Wednesday. Lufthansa is abandoning the previous MPL training with operator commitment. The four-month theoretical training takes place in Bremen or Zurich, the practical part in Goodyear (USA), Grenchen (Switzerland) and Rostock-Laage. Russian airports in the south remain closed

Due to the war of aggression against Ukraine, the Russian authorities have imposed a flight ban on some airports in the south of the country. This has now been extended for the seventh time - this time until April 13, 2022. A total of eleven airports would remain closed, including those in the Black Sea resort of Anapa, Rostov-on-Don and the city of Krasnodar, as the aviation portal Aero reports. The airports in Gelendzhik, Voronezh and Simferopol on the Ukrainian Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed in 2014, are also still affected by airspace restrictions. EU extends suspension of roaming charges until 2032

Emirates will fly twice daily to Mauritius from July

On April 1, Jordi Boto (52 years old) took over as CEO of EFW, after having driven the ramp-up of the conversion from passenger to cargo aircraft as Chief Operations Officer since November 2020. Jordi Boto succeeds outgoing Managing Director Andreas Sperl (74 years old), who left the company after more than 15 years. "Dr. Sperl was the architect of the EFW joint venture solution between Airbus and ST Engineering," says Jeffrey Lam, President of ST Engineering Commercial Aerospace. "EFW has grown since then and overcome many challenges. With Jordi Boto, who has more than twenty years of experience in the aviation industry and is now taking over from Dr. Sperl, we look forward to him continuing to drive the company's future growth and taking it to a new level. Boto has so far made a name for himself in the aviation industry as a turnaround expert. Among other things, he increased the production rate at ATR from six to 60 turboprop regional aircraft. Green Airlines cancels all flights

Ryanair is significantly reducing its presence in Lappeenranta

The Irish low-cost airline Ryanair is one of the few airlines that fly to Lappeenranta in Finland. After several postponements, this destination was only added from Vienna in autumn 2022. Armed Forces: Modernized training center opened in Bruckneudorf

The Austrian Armed Forces have a modernized training center at the Bruckneudorf military training area. Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner handed over the cross building and infantry shooting simulator to the troops on Tuesday. With the general renovation of the accommodation and the handover of the shooting simulator to the troops, the infrastructure at the Bruckneudorf military training area is on par with international standards," said the government member. Between 1980 and 1984, both the commercial building and the four striking cross buildings in the Benedek barracks in Bruckneudorf were completely renovated. After almost 40 years of intensive use by training units and various courses, it was necessary to adapt these objects to the contemporary requirements of the training troops. Starting in 2008, one cross building after the other was completely renovated in individual construction phases. With the completion of Object 109, all four cross buildings have now been completely renovated. It offers modern accommodation for 104 people in mainly three-bed rooms. The total cost of the renovation, which took about a year, was 4,1 million euros. The Small Arms Tactical Trainer serves as a training tool for learning, training and applying shooting and combat training in a squad or group setting (“conducting firefights with infantry weapons”) and is one of the most modern of its kind in the world.
