From Germany and Switzerland: Corendon is shortening the 2022/23 winter flight schedule

The airline Corendon Airlines is reducing its presence in Germany in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule. Numerous routes are not being served and the sale of flight tickets has already been stopped. Other routes are in jeopardy because they are marked as "sold out". The majority of the cancellations affect traffic between Germany and Turkey. For example, the destination Ankara will not be offered from Stuttgart, Munich, Hanover, Düsseldorf and Cologne/Bonn in winter 2022/23. Flights to the Turkish capital from Hamburg and Frankfurt are in jeopardy. For many airlines, it is a clear indication that a route is being discontinued if the reservation system either contains absurdly high ticket prices or if they are marked as supposedly sold out. The latter is the case, for example, with the Ankara flights from Hamburg and Frankfurt. However, numerous other routes are also affected: Among others, the destinations from Cologne/Bonn are Funchal, Adana, Gaziantep, Kayseri, Trabzon and Zonguldak. In Düsseldorf, the routes to Funchal, Sharm El Sheikh, Adana, Gaziantep, Samsun and Trabzon are affected. From Nuremberg, flights to Izmir have already been cancelled and those to Sharm El Sheikh, Agadir and Funchal are in jeopardy. From Münster/Osnabrück, it is uncertain whether Corendon Airlines or Corendon Europe will serve the destinations Funchal, Sharm El Sheikh and Zonguldak. In Hanover, the routes Agadir, Sharm El Sheikh, Adana, Diyarbakir and Kayseri are affected. The latter destination is also in jeopardy in Hamburg. In Basel, the routes to Funchal and Lanzarote face an uncertain future. The same applies to Fuerteventura from Munich and Memmingen. A

Klagenfurt: Eurowings is suspending Cologne/Bonn flights

The airline Eurowings is temporarily suspending the non-stop connection Cologne/Bonn-Klagenfurt at the beginning of the 2022/23 winter flight schedule period. The last flight for the time being is scheduled to take place on October 30, 2022. The Carinthian airport currently has only two regular scheduled connections: Austrian Airlines flies to Vienna and Eurowings to Cologne/Bonn. During the Corona pandemic, there were repeated longer periods in which Klagenfurt had no scheduled flights at all. As of October 30, 2022, the Cologne/Bonn route will be suspended until December 20, 2022. In addition, it is planned that only three rotations per week will be offered from January 2023. The Monday flights are to be eliminated by the beginning of the 2023 summer flight schedule period. From April 2023, Eurowings plans to fly on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The temporary suspension is justified by weak booking figures. Competitor Ryanair plans to offer a total of four routes to/from Klagenfurt in the 2022/23 winter flight schedule. The company recently told Aviation.Direct that it is satisfied with the advance booking figures, with London-Stansted emerging as the strongest route.
