Bahamas: CoV-related entry restrictions are falling
The Bahamas lifted the corona-related entry guidelines on September 26th. This means that unvaccinated people no longer have to present proof of a negative test, only if they have symptoms will they be required to undergo a PCR test. Until now, only people who could prove that they had been fully vaccinated against corona were allowed to enter the Bahamas without any further requirements. All other visitors had to present a negative PCR or antigen test, which could have been carried out no more than three days before departure. Since the beginning of this week, the regulations have been significantly relaxed: regardless of vaccination status, a test certificate no longer has to be presented, only people with COVID-19 symptoms have to undergo a PCR test upon arrival and isolate themselves in the event of a positive result. Unvaccinated tourists are also required to submit a questionnaire on their health every day of their stay, as Check24 reports. From October 1st, the obligation to wear a mouth and nose mask in most public indoor spaces will also largely be abolished. Starting next Saturday, the mask requirement in the Bahamas will only apply in medical facilities, nursing homes and schools.
