SAS extends losses

The Scandinavian airline SAS is not only deep in the red, but also continued to increase its losses between August and October 2022. The deficit during this period was the equivalent of around 113 million euros. The company announced that although it was able to achieve the highest transport performance since the beginning of the Corona crisis, higher fuel prices and currency effects had a negative impact. The parent company SAS Group has been in creditor protection proceedings in the USA since July 2022.

Air Serbia is reducing its presence in Salzburg

The airline Air Serbia temporarily suspended its non-stop route between Belgrade and Salzburg on Saturday. The provisional resumption will take place on December 24, 2022, but will end again on January 14, 2023. The carrier originally wanted to operate the route twice a week. Apparently, they were unable to secure enough bookings, so they are now limiting themselves to the period between Christmas and January 14, 2022. From the beginning of March 2023, Air Serbia plans to fly between Belgrade and Salzburg up to three times a week again.

Greece: Marathon Airlines has taken delivery of second Embraer 175

The Greek airline Marathon Airlines has added a second Embraer 175 to its fleet. The regional jet has already landed at its home base in Athens and will be used for ACMI and charter orders. The Greek carrier's E175 fleet thus consists of the aircraft with the registrations SX-ASK and SX-MTO. The latter regional jet was previously used by Alitalia Cityliner as EI-RDN and is currently 10,2 years old.
