Vistara joins the Barig Airline Association

The Indian airline Vistara will become a member of the airline association Barig (Board of Airline Representatives in Germany), the joint interest group for airlines operating in Germany, on January 1, 2023. With a fleet of over 50 aircraft, Vistara operates more than 250 flights a day to over 40 destinations within India and worldwide. Represented by Friends Touristik Marketing GmbH & Co. KG on the German market, Vistara serves Germany, India's largest EU trading partner, with six flights a week between the Indian capital Delhi and Frankfurt am Main. The airline is scheduled to merge with Air India by March next year. "With Vistara, an airline is joining BARIG that has grown very dynamically since its first flight in October 2013. Turkey: Stranded Airbus A400M return from Ukraine

Turkey's A400M fleet is complete again. Turkish pilots have flown out two military transport aircraft that had been stranded at Kiev airport since the beginning of the war. One day before Russia invaded Ukraine, Turkey sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The cargo was transported with two Airbus A400 M. But because war broke out a few hours later on February 24, the aircraft have remained trapped at Kiev-Boryspil airport ever since. But now the Turkish army has flown the two transport aircraft out of Ukraine. The A400 M with the military registration numbers 17-0080 and 18-0093 flew yesterday from the Ukrainian capital via western Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and over the Black Sea back to Turkey.

FRA: Condor and Airlink are offering more flights to South Africa

Holiday airline Condor is offering six additional connections from Frankfurt via South Africa to Namibia and Zimbabwe with the South African airline Airlink for this winter season. The Condor frequencies to Cape Town and Johannesburg are already available and will be operated until April 2023, according to the airline. From the two South African cities there are daily connecting flights with Airlink to Windhoek and Walvis Bay in Namibia and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The route from Frankfurt to Cape Town is served on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. According to Condor, return flights are available every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Flights from Frankfurt to Johannesburg are available on Mondays and Fridays; return flights can be booked for Tuesday and Saturday. The Airlink flights connecting Cape Town and Johannesburg with Walvis Bay, Windhoek and Victoria Falls are available daily as outbound and return flights, the airline announced. According to Condor, the routes to southern Africa will be offered with the new A330 Neo.

From Madrid: Air Europa flies to Salvador de Bahia

Air Europa is resuming its service between Madrid and Salvador de Bahia in Brazil today. The flight schedule includes two flights per week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Eurowings Discover is adding two more short-haul routes to the summer flight schedule

With Montpellier in the south of France and Monastir in Tunisia, the holiday airline is adding two more attractive holiday destinations to its recently published 2023 summer flight schedule from Frankfurt. Between June 23 and September 8, 2023, Eurowings Discover will fly to Montpellier twice a week - every Wednesday and Friday. Travelers can reach the southern French city, which is not far from the Mediterranean coast, in around 1:40 flight time. The Lufthansa subsidiary offers the only direct connection from Frankfurt to Montpellier. The city is the first French destination in the airline's route network. From May 22 to the end of October 2023, the carrier will also fly to the coastal town of Monastir in the south of the Gulf of Hammamet twice a week - every Monday and Wednesday. Travelers can reach the popular Tunisian holiday resort directly from Frankfurt after around 2:40 hours of flight time. Eurowings Discover thus offers one of the few direct connections from Germany. In addition to Monastir, the airline also flies to Djerba in Tunisia.

Luton Airport introduces teddy tags

Because children often lose soft toys such as teddy bears during flights and can then be very sad because the soft toy is not found, London Luton Airport has come up with an idea. They are introducing special tags to make it possible for the teddy to find its way back home. While Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year for many families, travelling with young children can often prove stressful. So it is not surprising that almost half (45%) of families turn to valuable toys and soft toys to keep children entertained while travelling. However, according to a new study by London Luton Airport, 49% of respondents say their child has lost their beloved toy during a trip. More than half (52%) of parents said that losing a child's toy has affected their holiday and a third (33%) of respondents admitted that their child would consider their favourite teddy or toy irreplaceable if they lost it. To help families travelling with children this Christmas, the airport is offering free teddy tags to help little holidaymakers easily find their misplaced cuddly toys. On the tags, parents can write the teddy's full name, flight number and contact details so that any left-behind toy can be quickly reunited with its owner.

Lufthansa Cityline: UFO members accept wage agreement

The collective agreement negotiated between the flight attendants' union Ufo and Lufthansa Cityline was accepted by the members of the employee representatives with 95 percent approval. Wizz Air wants to fly more frequently between Romania and Turkey
