Air Baltic connects Tampere with Nice and Milan

The Latvian airline is expanding the flight offering from its Tampere base with direct flights to Nice and Milan. From May 2023, the new destinations will be connected with two weekly flights. "In a few months, we will celebrate the first anniversary of our base in Tampere and so far the demand from Finnish passengers has met our expectations. After this success, we at air Baltic are excited to add these two beautiful cities to our route network, as both Nice and Milan are very popular travel destinations. Air Astana resumes flights to Beijing

Kazakhstan's national airline will resume its connection from Astana to Beijing on March 18, 2023. The flights will be operated twice a week - every Wednesday and Saturday - with an Airbus A321LR. 2022: Erfurt-Weimar Airport doubles passenger numbers

The East German airport looks back on a successful 2022. The number of passengers has almost doubled compared to the previous year, reaching 139.078. The busiest month was October with 25.400 passengers. Nine airlines, including Corendon Airlines, Corendon Europe, Albastar, Tailwind, Freebird, Smartlynx, Sundair, European Air Charter and Croatia Airlines flew to holiday regions around the Mediterranean from Erfurt-Weimar last year. There were also special trips to Sicily, Bologna, Sardinia, Montenegro, Hungary, Croatia, Cornwall, the Channel Islands and the winter destinations Tromsø, Kittilä and Kuusamo. The most popular destination was Antalya on the Turkish Riviera. For this reason, the airport on the Turkish Riviera will be served daily, in some cases even several times a day, in this year's summer flight schedule. In addition to the standard routes, special trips to Veneto, Andalusia, Jordan and Great Britain, which are in high demand, will again be included in the flight schedule in 2023. The spa trips to Heviz and Debrecen in Hungary will also start again from Erfurt, as the airport announced in a press release.

Air Baltic carried 67 percent more passengers in January

Last month, the Latvian airline carried a total of 246.800 passengers. That is 67 percent more than in the same period last year. In January 2023, Air Baltic operated 3.030 flights - 22 percent more than in the same month last year. "The first month of the year started very optimistically and clearly shows our continued growth trajectory. Demand is stable and on an increasing trend, which means that we will continue to grow in 2023 - in terms of fleet size, passengers carried, flights operated, destinations served and employees hired," said airline CEO Martin Gauss.

January 2023: Airbus delivered 20 aircraft

The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus was able to deliver a total of 2023 commercial aircraft to 20 customers in January 15. Amsterdam: KLM increases China offer

Charter flights: Neos flies Malpensa-Dakar with Boeing 787-9

In the 2023 summer flight schedule, the Italian airline Neos will once again operate charter flights between Milan-Malpensa and Dakar. Deutsche Bahn will continue to sell Eurostar tickets in the future

The long-distance train brand Thalys will disappear from the market by the end of 2023. In the future, the entire group will appear as Eurostar. The booking systems are to be merged in October 2023. This will have no impact on ticket sales via the partner Deutsche Bahn AG. Germany has lifted the mask requirement on public transport

Lunar New Year: Vietnam Airlines with 2,4 million passengers

Vietnam Airlines Group carried 6 million passengers on more than 29 domestic and international flights between January 2023 and 2,4, 14.500, the Lunar New Year period.
