Brussels Airport had around 2023 million passengers in February 1,3. In direct comparison with the same month last year, there was an increase of 65 percent. Cargo volumes fell by two percent. Brussels Airport welcomed 1.362.145 passengers in February, an increase of 65% compared to February 2022, which was still heavily affected by Covid-related travel restrictions. The Carnival holidays, which lasted two weeks (until March) for French-speaking students and one week for Dutch-speaking students, had a positive impact on passenger numbers, as more passengers departed than arrived. The share of transfer passengers was more than 16%, twice as high as in February 2022, confirming Brussels Airport's position as an important hub. The ten most visited countries in February were Spain, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, the United States, Turkey, Portugal and Morocco.
