Seattle: Two suspicious bags lead to airport closure

Two unattended bags at a ticket counter led to the closure of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Initial suspicions were not confirmed: only fishing and diving equipment were found in the bags. After two unattended bags were found, suspicions arose that the bags could pose a risk to the airport. The police examined the luggage with the help of numerous bomb technicians, and three security checkpoints had to be closed. This meant that passengers had to wait up to 75 minutes. The FAA announced that the airport would be closed until 19:45 p.m., and the lifting of the closure of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport was finally approved with an all-clear a few minutes before 20 p.m., as the portal Simple Flying explains. Only fishing and diving equipment was found in the unattended bags, which posed no threat, as confirmed by Seattle Port spokesman Peter McGraw.

Egypt Air will fly to São Paulo in the future

The connections between Africa and Latin America are to be improved: the North African airline Egypt Air is connecting the capital Cairo with Brazil's financial center São Paulo. Air Premium connects Seoul with New York

The South Korean airline Air Premia has already partially realized its wish to offer flights to the USA. The airline already offers flights to the western USA, but now the metropolis of New York is to be added to the offer. Saudi Arabia launches third state carrier

By founding the second national airline, Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia is demonstrating its commitment to immense development of air traffic and tourism. The country has announced a third national airline for the end of 2024: "Neom Airlines" is to transport people from all over the world to the future global metropolis and current planned city of Neom. Saudi Arabia has set clear and precise goals for air traffic: the country is to have 2030 million passengers a year by 330 and the three airlines are to be able to offer 250 destinations worldwide. Saudi airlines can currently fly to 99 destinations. The new airline Neom Airline, which is due to announce its market entry at the end of 2024 to the beginning of 2025, will be launched under the leadership of Klaus Goersch. The airline's future goal is to transport people from all over the world to the future Saudi metropolis of Neom. Neom is a Saudi planned city that was initiated by Mohammed bin Salman. The first region of the city is expected to be visible in early 2024, and Neom Airlines' base at Neom Bay Airport has been in place since 2019. However, information on the fleet of this new airline has not yet been announced. With the founding of a third airline, the tasks of the potential airlines will also diversify. While Saudia specializes in flights to Mecca and Medina and the Red Sea, Riyadh Air is expected to add flights to 100 destinations around the world to its offering. The third airline, Neom Airlines, on the other hand, aims to bring people from all over the world to the planned city and future metropolis of Neom.

Luxair cancels Luxembourg split

The airline Luxair will not fly to Split in the 2023 summer flight schedule after all. Originally, it was planned to fly once a week with a de Havilland Dash 8-400. Switzerland: Flight tickets and package tours have become significantly more expensive

The Comparis Institute found that the cost of airline tickets from Switzerland rose sharply in February 2023. In direct comparison with January 2023, airlines charged around 28,8 percent more. Germany: Enterprise car rental wants to expand strongly
