EVG and Verdi want to paralyze Germany on Monday
The unions EVG and Verdi plan to largely paralyze public transport, including aviation, in Germany on Monday, March 27, 2023. A warning strike is being called at numerous airports, rail and bus companies, and municipal transport companies. In addition, there will be a strike at Munich Airport on Sunday. Bavaria's largest airport assumes that there will be no regular flight operations on either day. Frankfurt and Hamburg also point out that normal operations will not take place on Monday. Due to the fact that a warning strike has been called at a large number of airports, as well as in public transport, long-distance rail services, and other transport companies, significant restrictions on travel within, to, and from Germany are to be expected. Those affected should therefore regularly inform themselves about possible alternatives. The actions of the employee representatives have been sharply criticized by industry associations and Deutsche Bahn AG. The last time there was a similar strike was 30 years ago, but it was a regular industrial action and not just a "warning strike."
