Vienna Airport and Austrian Airlines: Have your luggage picked up and take off without any problems

Vienna Airport and Austrian Airlines are planning to present a new era of their service program in cooperation with Airportr: since April 12, Austrian Airlines passengers have been able to have their luggage transported to the airport in advance via a delivery service in order to save check-in waiting times. The test run will run until May 3, and the first 200 bookings are free of charge as part of the test run. Since April 12, Austrian Airlines passengers have been able to have their check-in luggage transported to Vienna Airport in advance. This should save passengers the lengthy waiting times in the check-in process in the future. The day before the flight, the check-in luggage is dropped off at a desired location, picked up and brought to the airport so that travelers only have to concentrate on their flight. The respective passenger will receive the luggage again at the flight's destination. The service can currently be considered for pick-ups in Vienna, and 200 bookings are free of charge as part of the test run until May 3. The new service program is intended to usher in a new era of convenience for passengers: depending on the number of pieces of luggage and the pick-up location, this service can be booked from 26 euros. "Innovative service for more travel comfort: Together with Austrian Airlines and Airportr, we are making it easier for travelers to depart from Vienna Airport. Thanks to baggage collection from home, passengers can now start their well-earned vacation without having to wait for check-in and in a more relaxed manner. In time for the summer season, we are thus further improving the quality of service in Vienna," says Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG. "It is very important to us to ensure that the entire

German 49 euro ticket without Flixbus and Flixtrain

In Germany, advance sales of the so-called 49-euro ticket, which is to be valid for local transport nationwide, have begun. However, the rail and long-distance bus provider Flix Mobility is annoyed that it has not been integrated despite intensive discussions. Now there are renewed threats that around 20 percent of the German service will have to be discontinued. Since Flixbus does not operate a single bus or train itself in Germany, but has outsourced the operational implementation entirely to subcontractors, or line providers with their own concession use the brand as part of franchise agreements, the threatened cuts would primarily affect the operational bus companies. Whether these will have to cut jobs is likely to vary greatly, since some have public transport routes and/or classic coach services, while others specialize entirely in operating long-distance routes as subcontractors. The German 49-euro ticket is by no means comparable to the "Klimaticket Ö" valid throughout Austria, since all long-distance trains in the Alpine republic are also included. In Germany, Eurocity, Intercity, Intercity Express, Railjet, night trains and the like are again excluded – similar to the nine-euro ticket.
