Budapest Airport can boast three new cargo flight connections operated by Wizz Air, Longhao Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines, which have been launched in recent days. Wizz Air operates a cargo connection to Hangzhou with the Airbus A330F, which it operates on behalf of the Orban government, in addition to Universal Translink Airline. Longhao Airlines connects Zhengzhou with Budapest and Ethiopian Airlines connects Hong Kong with the Hungarian capital. On May 19, the Hungarian capital welcomed Longhao Airlines. The cargo airline will operate a B747 freighter between Budapest and Zhengzhou (CGO), accelerating the development of the airport's global air cargo route network and creating new capacity for the BUD-CGO route, which has been successfully operated since 2019, to the fast-developing cargo gateway in China. To complete the progress, Ethiopian Airlines has launched a weekly charter service between Budapest and Hong Kong, using the airline's B777 freighter aircraft and focusing on general cargo and e-commerce goods.
