MSC takes over newbuild ship Euribia

The shipping company MSC recently took over another cruise ship, the MSC Euribia. According to the company, this ship is designed to score points for its energy efficiency and low emissions. Although it is powered by LNG, the liner is dual-mode capable from the factory. In concrete terms, this means that MSC can also operate the cruise ship with conventional marine diesel. However, it is emphasized that it is a particularly low-sulfur type. "During operation, the ship emits up to 19 percent fewer greenhouse gases per passenger per day than its sister ships, which are powered by conventional marine fuels. This corresponds to 44 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions per passenger per day compared to ships that were built just ten years ago," said MSC in a media statement.
