Hamburg-Munich was the busiest domestic German route in 2022

Trade fairs, events or personal meetings with business partners: Although video conferences are very popular, business trips are indispensable for many companies. The majority of business trips are mainly domestic trips. Last year, most passengers flew from Hamburg to Munich. In 2019 - before the pandemic - the Frankfurt-Berlin route was the most popular. This is what AirHelp, the world's largest organization for air passenger rights, found out in a recent analysis. Within Germany, 2022 percent of passengers reached their destination late in 26,4, compared to just 2019 percent in 20,1. Most passengers departed from Hamburg, Munich and Berlin in 2022. In 2022, more than 595.100 passengers flew from Hamburg Airport to Franz Josef Strauss Airport in Munich, making the route the top choice in the study. 25,7 percent of all passengers on the route were delayed due to flight problems. Munich-Hamburg follows in second place among the most frequently flown routes with around 589.300 passengers, with 24,1 percent of passengers taking off late. But Berlin Airport BER was also a popular departure point for domestic flights in 2022, with almost 588.000 passengers traveling from BER to Frankfurt am Main. However, there were numerous delays and flight cancellations on the route, with more than one in three passengers (35,8 percent) affected by disruptions. Frankfurt (1.296 million passengers), Berlin (1.294 million) and Munich (1.186 million) were among the most common departure points for domestic flights in 2019. This is not surprising, however, as the cities are top business locations in Germany with their companies, industry events and events. Berlin in particular was in great demand during the period. Within Germany, Frankfurt Airport recorded the highest number of delays on

International initiative for more safety and better working conditions in air traffic

A few days ago, the International Pilots' Association IFALPA and the International Transport Workers' Federation ITF held an event to discuss how to establish numerous fundamental points for improving working standards. A key point recorded at the meeting at the ILO was the need to reassess the exclusion of aviation workers from protection under international labour standards, particularly in matters of health and safety. Recommendations were also made calling on the ILO and governments to work with employers and unions to achieve gender equality and remove obstacles to the recruitment, advancement and continued employment of women across the industry. In addition, social dialogue and the Just Culture principle were recorded as recommendations for the global aviation industry. "The issue of excessive workloads and lack of rest periods has once again become a top priority for the Cockpit Association since the sharp increase in traffic last year," says VC press spokesman Matthias Baier. "It is also a great success for German pilots that the working conditions for aviation personnel have come into focus through the successful work of our umbrella organization IFALPA at the International Labor Organization. We cannot work permanently at the limit and at the same time maintain the high level of safety that characterizes air traffic. It is therefore right that the entire industry recognizes the issue together at the ILO and that we can now push for improvements in this context as well." IFALPA President Amornvaj Mansumitchai said: "Our industry is facing serious challenges. Hundreds of thousands of flights have been canceled or

DA-CH region: Tui with around one million Antalya vacationers

The travel group Tui alone says it will have around one million guests from Austria, Germany and Switzerland in Antalya, Turkey, in the 2023 summer season. The company believes that early bookers have secured the best prices on the beach. The tour operator has also noted that vacation trips are being booked well in advance again. Although it is not many months, it is still about two weeks in direct comparison with the previous year. Early bird offers are said to have been used by numerous Tui customers, even in view of constant price increases in everyday life. Dortmund Airport receives second supplementary permit

At the same time, Dortmund Airport GmbH had filed a complaint with the Federal Administrative Court in Leipzig against the non-admission of the appeal. Flight attendants: South Korea limits annual radiation exposure to six millisieverts

In South Korea, flight attendants may not be exposed to radiation levels higher than six millisieverts per year in the future. A corresponding law, based on the recommendations of the National Commission for Nuclear Safety and Security, came into force on June 11, 2023. This also means that the number of international flights that cabin crew are allowed to take per year will be limited. The law stipulates that airlines must select both the routes and the quantity of missions in such a way that radiation exposure does not exceed 6 millisieverts per year. The commission mentioned above conducted a long-term study between 2017 and 2021. Among other things, it was found that flight attendants are exposed to an average maximum dose of 5,42 millisieverts. The lowest exposure measured was one millisievert. In 2020 and 2021, the average exposure was 1,59 millisieverts per year, but this is primarily due to the massive reduction in air traffic due to the corona pandemic. Airlines may soon be able to ask their cabin crew to undergo regular radiation tests, as the law stipulates that proof must be provided that the limit is not exceeded. If this is the case and the airline in question does not take any other measures to prevent this, a fine of up to $4.728 per individual case could be imposed.
