Ljubljana Airport reached the millionth mark in terms of passenger traffic last Friday. The millionth passenger of 2023 was on a Turkish Airlines flight. The millionth mark was reached again in 2023 for the first time in four years. The last millionth mark was reached in 2019, according to the Ex-Yu Aviation News portal. Janez Krašnja said: “The milestone of the one millionth passenger has been reached again after four years, and that makes today very special. We are pleased with the recovery in traffic and now expect to handle even more than the originally announced 1,2 million passengers by the end of the year. The flight offer is expanding season by season – Luxembourg and Skopje were recently added, and we are looking forward to the new flights to Riga that airBaltic will launch in May 2024. We are grateful for the partnerships with the airlines that make Ljubljana Airport's flight network attractive and increasingly diverse, and for being the choice of so many passengers."
