Finnair no longer has any outstanding government loans
The airline Finnair has announced that the state-guaranteed loan granted in March 2021 due to the corona pandemic has now been fully paid off. The carrier was provided with a maximum volume of EUR 400 million, which Finnair has fully used. After repaying the capital loan and the previously repaid hybrid bond, the company no longer has any loans that count as equity. In Finnair's EUR 2023 million rights issue carried out in November 570, the Finnish state subscribed to its share of the new shares based on the subscription rights allocated to it. The Finnish state paid the subscription price of the shares by offsetting it against a corresponding amount of the capital loan. This amounted to EUR 318,6 million. The difference was transferred back to the state, according to Finnair.
