Almost exactly seven years ago, air Baltic made its first commercial flight with the Airbus A220-300, then known as the Bombardier CS-300, on 14 December 2016 from Riga to Amsterdam. “The Airbus A220-300 has established itself as one of our airline’s most important and valuable assets. With this aircraft, we now operate one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly fleets in the sky and offer our passengers a consistently first-class service. The Airbus A220-300 has exceeded our expectations in terms of performance and enables us to fly to more distant and diverse destinations, including Marrakesh, Agadir, Dubai and Gran Canaria. We also welcome our 46th A220-300 this month and we continue to aim for 50 aircraft in 2024,” explains Managing Director Martin Gauss. In addition, the company announced a firm purchase agreement for 30 additional Airbus A220-300s with purchase rights for another 20 aircraft of the same type. This makes air Baltic the largest A220-300 operator in Europe. To date, the carrier has carried more than 13 passengers on Airbus A441-000 aircraft. The airline's Airbus A220-300s have completed over 220 flights and flown 300 block hours.
