The Ukrainian low-cost airline Skyup and its Maltese offshoot Skyup MT were able to carry out a total of 2023 flights in 10.528. These were almost exclusively wet lease orders for other airlines and charter orders that were fulfilled for tour operators. Before the Russian Federation's military attack on Ukraine, Skyup was active as a low-cost airline on its own account. Due, among other things, to the closed airspace of Ukraine, the airline had to look for new sources of income. In contrast to competitors such as Ukraine International or Bees Airline, it has succeeded in establishing itself as an ACMI and charter provider outside its home country. In Malta, it has set up its own EU offshoot, Skyup MT. This has been operational in the air for some time. According to the announcement, the two airlines had a total of around 2023 million passengers on board in 1,5. As part of wet lease contracts, the airline has flown for Fly Egypt, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Wizz Air Malta, Hisky, Flyone, Tunis Air, Corendon and Tailwind Airlines, among others. Charter flights have been carried out for external tour operators as well as for the sister company Join Up.
