Skytanking becomes Ryanair's ground handling service provider

From April 2024, the low-cost airline Ryanair and its subsidiaries will also purchase ground handling services from Skytanking Aviation Services. Among other airports, Eindhoven Airport will be switching to this provider. The name "Skytanking" already suggests that the new Ryanair partner operates primarily as a fuel supplier. In addition, the company also acts as a ground handling agent at some airports. The cooperation with the low-cost airline includes both the purchase of kerosene and ground handling services. "The entire Skytanking Aviation Services team is delighted to be expanding our service portfolio with Ryanair. As we continue to diversify our services and expand our ground handling presence, our focus is on delivering exactly what Ryanair and its customers need, namely safe, professional and punctual operations. With this focus, we are confident that this will be a successful partnership," said Craig Denmark, Skytanking Aviation Services General Manager. It was not disclosed at which airports the fuel supplier, which will also act as a ground handling agent for Ryanair in the future, will operate for the low-cost airline. The press release only mentions that this will be the case "among other places" at Eindhoven Airport. In Germany, Skytanking operates as a fuel supplier at Stuttgart Airport, among other places, but this airport is no longer served by the Ryanair Group. Just a few weeks ago, non-customer Ryanair publicly criticized the fees at Stuttgart Airport. "Ryanair is pleased to announce its new partnership with Skytanking for ground handling. This agreement, initially for six years, ensures that Ryanair can continue to meet its industry-leading handling times.

Boston: US Customs finds four monkey skulls in luggage

At Boston Airport, U.S. Customs officials made an unusual discovery: monkey heads and other mummified body parts of the animals were found in the luggage of a traveler who arrived from the Democratic Republic of Congo on a Delta flight via Paris. According to CBP, the passenger initially stated that he only had dried fish with him, but no illegal items. X-raying the luggage showed that he actually had some dried fish with him, but the officials were amazed: Several monkey skulls and other mummified body parts of these animals were visible. The passenger was then asked to open his suitcase and then the officials saw the true contents. According to the CBP statement, four monkey skulls and dehydrated body parts were inside. The customs authorities consulted with the CDC and then ordered confiscation and destruction. The customs authorities also stated that so-called "bushmeat" posed a high health risk.
