Wizz Air uses VR in pilot training

Wizz Air is the first carrier to use the new Airbus technologies, Mobile Airbus Training experience (MATe) and Virtual Procedure Trainer (VPT), in pilot training. The integration of the two training solutions in Wizz Air's training center in Budapest will support pilots in refresher and initial training through the combined benefits of the MATe Suite and the Virtual Procedure Trainer. While MATe is a cloud-based service platform with e-training and exams for various pilot training categories, the Virtual Procedure Trainer is an innovative software solution that immerses trainee pilots individually in a virtual cockpit so that they can practice or familiarize themselves with the functions of the Airbus cockpit and the corresponding procedures. Vienna: Priority Pass distinguishes Vienna Lounge

With a regular entrance fee of 55 euros, the Vienna Lounge at Vienna-Schwechat Airport is not exactly one of the cheapest exclusive waiting areas. However, the services offered on site seem to have convinced Priority Pass members, as it was voted "Global Lounge of the Year". The Vienna Lounge was able to prevail in competition with 1.500 lounges located at 700 airports in 145 countries. According to Priority Pass operator Collinson, the award is based on customer reviews received from participants in the paid program. It is an access card with which you can get free or discounted access to many airport lounges - depending on the tariff model you choose. Some credit card companies already include a Priority Pass. "With Viennese elegance, Austrian art and high-quality cuisine, the Vienna Lounge is in the top league of airport lounges. We are very pleased that Priority Pass members rated the Vienna Lounge the best at the Excellence Awards. This is a great confirmation for our entire team. So a big thank you to all the employees of the airport lounges and to our partners DoN Group and Leopold Museum. Thanks to their great efforts we can celebrate this success,” says Julian Jäger, CEO of Flughafen Wien AG. For frequent flyers, the start of the Vienna Lounge was a bit bumpy. However, this was not due to the services on site, but rather to the fact that some credit cards and even the Priority Pass card were not accepted at first due to a lack of contracts. Agreements were only concluded gradually. However, it has also happened that providers such as

Großglockner mountain railways are not sold

The owners of the Großglockner Bergbahnen Heiligenblut have decided that they will not sell to a group of investors that has been reported in the media for several weeks. The company is to continue to operate independently. According to the statement, they are not happy with the previous approach of the alleged interested parties, who are said to have been through the local authority but not directly through the company's owners. They are also unable to accept the conditions proposed by the interested parties' lawyer. Now the company is to continue to operate independently. "In order to secure the ski area in the long term, the owners believe that the number of facilities and thus the costs must be reduced. In recent years, the annual loss has been between 0,5 and 1 million euros. The specific measures would first have to be examined in the event of an independent continuation; in any case, the Fleissbahnen are affected from a financial perspective. From the owners' point of view, the mountain railways and winter tourism in the region can only be secured in the long term by reducing the effort and costs caused by closing parts of the facility," they say. In other words: the ski area is to be reduced in size.
