Lufthansa transports football fans to the European Championships in Germany

The Lufthansa Group recorded around 14 additional bookings for flights to the host cities of the European Football Championship in Germany between June 14 and July 2024, 200.000. Demand is particularly strong on routes to and from Great Britain, which is why numerous additional flights have been set up. Heiko Reitz, Chief Commercial Officer of Lufthansa Airlines, emphasizes the anticipation of the football event and Lufthansa's role as a partner of the German national football team. Under the "Fanhansa" label, six aircraft in the A320 family will be equipped with a football design. On board, passengers can enjoy special EM chocolates and follow live tickers of the games via the FlyNet® portal. The FlyNet® portal also makes it possible to follow EM games live on mobile devices in German and English. Lufthansa Insights also offers videos of the DFB players, quizzes and information about the host cities. A special highlight is the Lufthansa fan scarf, which is distributed free of charge at Germany games and can be seen on the facade of Terminal 2 in Munich until mid-August. This is intended to get passengers in the mood for the upcoming major events, including the European elections and the Olympic Games in Paris.
