VOR Flex in the Mostviertel: Successful pilot project in the first year

The VOR Flex demand-driven mobility service in the western Mostviertel recorded around 24.000 passengers in its first year of operation. Measurement flights at Zurich Airport: Navigation systems are checked

From August 26 to 31, 2024, measurement flights to check the navigation systems will take place again at Zurich Airport. These flights, which will be carried out both in the afternoon and at night until two o'clock in the morning at the latest, will serve to precisely calibrate the instrument landing systems on runways 14, 16 and 28. Similar measurement flights were already carried out in June and July in connection with the new construction of the instrument landing system on runway 34. Further measurement flights for runway 34 are planned for mid-October, but these will only take place in the afternoon. A specially equipped Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft will be used for the tests. The air traffic control company Skyguide is responsible for carrying out the flights.

Vienna city guide app “ivie” expands city walks

The city guide app "ivie" from Vienna Tourist Board now offers users even deeper insights into the city of Vienna with new city walks through the Gußhausviertel, Freihausviertel, Karmeliterviertel and the Stuwerviertel including the Wurstelprater. These extensions are intended to promote tourism in less frequented districts and open up new perspectives on the city for both visitors and locals. Since its launch in 2020, the app has been downloaded around 1,2 million times, with around half a million active users in 2023. The app offers 24 guided city walks and has already been used 120.000 times.
