Munich Airport records growth in passengers and freight

Munich Airport recorded sustained growth in the first nine months of 2024. With almost 31,4 million passengers, an increase of 4,5 million travelers was achieved compared to the same period last year, which corresponds to an increase of 12,5 percent. The positive development continued in September, even though the number of passengers at 4,1 million fell short of the 4,2 million guests in August due to the shorter month. In the second half of September in particular, over a million passengers traveled through the airport. In addition to the number of passengers, the number of take-offs and landings also increased: over 247.000 flight movements were registered from January to September, which corresponds to an increase of almost nine percent compared to the previous year. In addition, freight volume grew to almost 228.000 tons, also an increase of almost nine percent compared to the previous year. Munich Airport is thus a central hub in air traffic with increasing passenger numbers and growing freight volume.

Frankfurt records passenger growth of 2024 percent in September 1,2

In September 2024, Frankfurt Airport welcomed around 5,8 million passengers, an increase of 1,2 percent compared to the same month last year. While domestic traffic increased by 1,3 percent and European traffic by 2,6 percent, intercontinental traffic recorded a decline of 1,1 percent. The Middle East region was particularly hard hit, with a decline of 27,8 percent, mainly due to the geopolitical situation. Despite positive growth in other Far Eastern markets, such as China (plus 30,4 percent), this could not offset the decline in the Middle East. Cargo volume increased by 3,5 percent year-on-year, while the number of flight movements increased slightly by 0,4 percent. Passenger volumes also grew across the entire Fraport portfolio, particularly at Ljubljana Airport in Slovenia (+11,0 percent) and Lima Airport in Peru (+13,2 percent). Emirates: New training investment to prepare for A350 fleet introduction

Emirates airline is about to introduce Airbus A350 aircraft into its fleet and has made a remarkable investment of around 48 million US dollars in preparation for this. This investment is intended to significantly increase the quality and efficiency of the training of its pilots and cabin crew. By using state-of-the-art simulation equipment and specially developed support systems, Emirates is cementing its reputation as an innovation leader in the aviation industry. At the heart of this innovation are three fully mobile full-flight simulators for the Airbus A350, which are equipped with the industry-first Pilot Support System (PSS). This system was developed entirely in-house at Emirates and enables an interactive, immersive training experience. During the briefing phase, trainees can create a virtual cockpit setup, which is continued seamlessly in the simulator. In addition, the debriefing mode allows a detailed debriefing in which the instructor can analyze and improve the crew's performance. Emirates' Airbus A350 simulators have already received the highest certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), confirming the advanced technology and efficiency of these systems. The first of these simulators was certified without any complaints, a rare and impressive result in the field of flight simulation technology. This quality ensures that Emirates pilots are optimally prepared for flight operations and have mastered the necessary skills with confidence. Another highlight of the investment is the static training unit, which realistically replicates the cockpit of the A350 and is equipped with visual and acoustic systems. This unit enables specific training scenarios to be simulated, including emergency and evacuation training. Emirates also plans to open a state-of-the-art training center, which will have a total of six simulators for the A350.
