Mafalda on the flight to Madrid: Iberia presents sculpture
The Argentine cartoon character Mafalda, created by Quino, was a very special passenger on a recent Iberia flight between Buenos Aires and Madrid. The airline transported a sculpture of the little thinker that will be installed on Monday in Madrid's central Matadero Avenue as a tribute to its creator. The sculpture, made by Argentine artist Pablo Irrang, is made of pigmented epoxy resin and quartz filling, which gives it great resistance to the elements. With a height of 80 cm and a width and depth of 45 cm each, Mafalda becomes part of a select group of only twelve cities around the world that present this character in their streets. During the flight, the sculpture surprised the passengers, who captured this special moment. This action by Iberia is part of a broader commitment to promote cultural exchange between Spain and Latin America and aims to strengthen relations between the two regions. According to Iberia, this action will help promote dialogue and cooperation between cultures, ultimately leading to shared prosperity.
