Norwegian Group records increase in passenger numbers and presents winter flight schedule for 2025/26
The Norwegian Group has started 2025 with strong growth in passenger numbers. In total, the airline carried 1.567.875 passengers in January, an increase of 12% for Norwegian and 19% for Widerøe compared to the same month last year. CEO Geir Karlsen emphasized that Norwegian's capacity increased by 23%, while passenger traffic also increased by 22%. Despite a slight reduction in the load factor to 82,1% due to the expansion, the airline was able to maintain its high flight regularity of 98,6% and improved punctuality of 85,5%. Norwegian has already planned its summer flights for the coming months, which include a total of 344 routes to more than 120 destinations. These include 17 new routes, including connections from Copenhagen to Tangier and from Oslo to Toulouse. The airline has also received two new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. In addition, the winter schedule for the 2025-2026 season was presented, which continues to include popular connections to the north of Europe. For travelers from the UK, Norwegian offers direct flights to destinations such as Tromsø and Rovaniemi. In winter 2025-2026, Norwegian will offer a total of 159 routes to 82 Nordic destinations, including 94 connections to Norway and 32 to Denmark. The company is banking on the strong demand for winter holidays and recommends early booking for the upcoming travel periods. The planned routes also include new connections such as the route from Ålesund to London Gatwick and from Newcastle to Copenhagen.
