Aer Lingus resumes Cork – Geneva flight service
The Irish airline Aer Lingus will resume its flight service from Cork to Geneva in the upcoming 2025/2026 winter flight schedule. This was announced by the aviation portal "Aeroroutes." The route is scheduled to resume on December 20, 2025. Aer Lingus last served this route in March 2016, underscoring the importance of the now reactivated connection. The flights between Cork in southwest Ireland and the Swiss city of Geneva will operate every Saturday. The aircraft will be an Airbus A320, a standard model for medium-haul flights that offers proven efficiency and travel comfort. The route is expected to appeal to both travelers from Ireland wishing to visit the Swiss Alpine regions or international organizations in Geneva, as well as passengers from Switzerland wishing to explore the Cork region and southwest Ireland. The decision to resume this service is an indicator of Aer Lingus' strategic focus on expanding its route network and responding to demand in specific segments. Geneva is an important international center for diplomacy, banking, and winter tourism, while Cork is a significant regional hub in Ireland. Reconnecting these two cities could boost tourism and business travel in both directions. Aer Lingus, as Ireland's national airline and a member of the International Airlines Group (IAG), is committed to consolidating its market position and optimizing its offerings for its customers. The addition of Geneva to Cork's winter schedule demonstrates that the airline recognizes the potential in this connection and is committed to connecting regional Irish airports to major European cities.
