Irish IAG group member Aer Lingus will become the world's first operator of the Airbus A321XLR in the third quarter. The first machine has the serial number 11348 and will be registered as EI-XLR.

The aircraft is already fully assembled and partially painted in Aer Lingus colors. However, recent photos show that the engines have not yet been attached. The company already operates several A321LRs and is currently waiting for delivery of six A321XLRs.
