At this year’s Paris Air Show, Airbus on the second day of the fair a significant order from the Vietnamese airline vietjet On Tuesday, the two companies signed a preliminary contract for the delivery of 100 aircraft of the type A321neoThis order also includes an option for an additional 50 aircraft, highlighting the potential for a substantial expansion of Vietjet's fleet.

This latest success joins a series of major orders for Airbus, which were already secured at the start of the trade fair on Monday. Vietjet had just ordered 20 A330neo wide-body jets from the European aircraft manufacturer at the end of May this year, highlighting the Vietnamese airline's ongoing expansion strategy and its confidence in Airbus products. The A321neo is a narrow-body aircraft known for its economical operation and short- and medium-haul capacity.

While Airbus was able to record further successes at the aviation fair, its American competitor remained Boeing The airline remained quiet until lunchtime on Tuesday, reporting no new aircraft orders. This continued after an already uneventful Monday. The lack of new orders for Boeing comes at a time when the company suffered another setback after years of crisis: Last week, an Air India Boeing 787 crashed with 242 people on board, with only one passenger surviving and several others on the ground losing their lives.

Such large orders at international air shows are crucial for aircraft manufacturers, as they not only fill order books but also reflect market confidence and the companies' competitive position. The continued expansion of Vietjet's fleet with Airbus aircraft underscores the growth momentum in the Southeast Asian aviation market.
