August 2024: BER passenger numbers rise to 2,39 million

August 2024 was the busiest month of the year so far at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). A total of 2,39 million passengers used the airport, an increase of 7,7 percent compared to August 2023. However, compared to August 2019, the last full year before the pandemic, passenger volume was still below the level of around 3,18 million.

From January to August 2024, BER welcomed a total of 16,58 million passengers, an increase of 11,1 percent compared to the same period last year. The busiest day was August 30, with 85.778 passengers. In addition, 16.520 aircraft were handled in August, an increase of 2,8 percent compared to the previous year. Air freight volumes increased by 33,8 percent to 4.067 tons compared to August 2023 and by 31,5 percent compared to August 2019.
