Austria will present itself with its own pavilion at the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan, under the motto "Composing the Future." The goal of the Austrian contribution is to showcase the country's innovative strength and creative diversity to an international audience. Over 120 Austrian companies from various sectors are participating in the design of the pavilion and the exhibition. EXPO 2025 will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, and its theme is "Designing Future Society for Our Lives."

The key partners of the Austrian Pavilion include renowned companies such as AT&S, Austrian Airlines, Vienna Airport, and the Vienna State Opera. The Styrian circuit board manufacturer AT&S will be presenting, among other things, a digital representation of the Osaka folding screen at Eggenberg Palace, an example of the connection between microelectronics and cultural heritage. Vienna Airport is using EXPO as a platform to deepen economic relations with Japan and Asia. The Austrian contribution will be promoted at Vienna Airport in prominent locations, such as baggage claim and in the arrivals area.

Traditional companies are also participating in the World Exhibition. The Viennese manufacturer Bakalowits Lichtdesign, which was already represented at the Vienna World Exhibition in 1873, is providing a floor lamp for the VIP area of the Austrian Pavilion. Other well-known brands such as Bösendorfer, Riedel, Julius Meinl, and the Viennese porcelain manufacturer Augarten are contributing to the design. The pavilion, designed by BWM Designers & Architects, combines modern architecture with innovative presentation technology and interactive elements.

The Federal Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs is providing 75 percent of the funding for Austria's participation, with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber covering the remaining 25 percent. A total of around 2025 countries and nine international organizations will participate in EXPO 160. With its contribution, Austria is positioning itself as an innovative and economically powerful location on one of the most important global platforms.
