Due to the Austrian national football team reaching the round of 16, Austrian Airlines is offering seven additional flights between Vienna and Leipzig at short notice.
The first of the additional flights will depart from Vienna on the evening of July 1st. Three more flights will follow on the day of the match itself to ensure that fans can reach both the stadium and the fan mile at Augustusplatz in Leipzig in time for kick-off. The return flights to Vienna are planned for July 3rd. Tickets can now be booked on the airline's website.
Michael Trestl, Chief Commercial Officer of Austrian Airlines, emphasised the importance of the additional flights for the fans: "As the red-white-red airline, we are bringing as many fans as possible to Leipzig to cheer on our national team and hopefully celebrate their entry into the quarter-finals. With the extra flights, all fans who have managed to get a ticket at short notice or simply want to experience the atmosphere in the fan mile can fly to the round of 16 in a relaxed manner and with the usual Austrian service."
