Klagenfurt Airport invited representatives from travel agencies, the airport and Austrian Airlines to an industry meeting on November 22, 2023. The main aim was to promote the transfer options via Vienna-Schwechat.

Klagenfurt Airport is currently only connected to the Vienna-Schwechat hub. There are no longer any other hub connections. Things were different in the past because, for example, there were also feeder routes to Munich and Frankfurt am Main. Things are also rather poor in the point-to-point area in winter 2023/24. Ryanair serves London-Stansted and Austrian Airlines Hamburg for a few weeks.

During a relaxed lunch meeting, Alexander Schnecke, Director Corporate Sales, and Bernhard Hamela, District Key Account Manager, informed the representatives of Carinthian travel agencies and corporate customers present about news at Austrian Airlines. “We consider it extremely important to provide our Carinthian sales partners with first-hand information. “Today we informed you about news across the entire route network and the good connecting connections from Austrian Airlines and the Lufthansa Group via the Vienna hub,” said Alexander Schnecke from Austrian Airlines.

“The Carinthian travel agencies and corporate travel agencies are essential partners for us and our important airline customer Austrian Airlines. Attractive European metropolises and popular holiday destinations in the Mediterranean can be reached with short transfer times and attractive through fares from Klagenfurt via the Vienna hub,” said Klagenfurt Airport Director Maximilian Wildt.
