The new red and sweet wine Guide Austria 2025 presents a selection of top Austrian wines. Under the direction of wine academic Johannes Fiala and sommelier Adi Schmid, 197 wines from 75 winemakers were tasted and evaluated.

The red wine "Titan 2021" from the Josef Tesch winery in Neckenmarkt received the highest rating with 99 points. Among the sweet wines, the "Muskat Ottonel Schilfwein 2021" from the Hans Tschida winery even achieved the highest score of 100 points.

The Gesellmann winery from Deutschkreutz was named overall winner among the red wine estates, while Hans Tschida from Angerhof was named best sweet wine estate. The guide highlights the high standard of Austrian wines, with numerous wines being rated as "outstanding" or "absolutely top of international class".

Austrian winemaking has a long tradition, particularly in Burgenland and Lower Austria. The regions are known for their sweet wines, especially Trockenbeerenauslese. In recent years, red wine production has also developed strongly in Austria, particularly with the Blaufränkisch grape variety.

The ratings in the Wine Guide 2025 reflect the high quality and diversity of Austrian wines.
