IAG group member British Airways and the Balpa union reached an agreement on austerity measures. Instead of 1.255 jobs, 270 are now being reduced. Around 300 pilots will temporarily receive a lower payment and will not be deployed for the time being.

There is also less money for those who continue to serve. They have to forego around 20 percent of their salaries. This reduction is to be reduced to around eight percent over a period of two years, said the Balpa union. Now the members still have to vote on the agreement. A result is expected at the end of July 2020.
