British Petroleum intends to establish a production facility for SAF fuels in Leipzig, Saxony. The plan is to produce around 50.000 tons of so-called sustainable kerosene every year.

Together with Johnson Matthey, the BP Group wants to produce SAF on a large scale near Leipzig Airport. The company EDL, which presented the project as the leader, is also involved in the project. The Mitteldeutsche Zeitung reported on this, citing a company spokeswoman. It is currently planned that the plant will be in full operation during 2027.
