At the end of the Bavarian summer holidays, Munich, Nuremberg and Memmingen airports report a successful travel season with some record numbers.

Munich Airport handled 6,2 million passengers in the past six weeks, an increase of ten percent over the previous year. September 1 was the peak day with 143.000 passengers. Flight occupancy reached a new high of 86 percent. Destinations in the Mediterranean and North America were particularly in demand, with passenger numbers in some cases exceeding pre-crisis levels.

Memmingen Airport also recorded over 500.000 passengers, 16 percent more than in the previous year, with the aircraft being almost full with a capacity utilization of 94 percent. Nuremberg Airport counted 714.000 passengers, a slight increase compared to 2023. The most popular destinations included Antalya, Mallorca and Heraklion.
