The Carinthian lakes not only enjoy a wonderful turquoise color and pleasant water temperatures, but also excellent water quality. Current studies by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and the European Environment Agency (EEA) confirm that all bathing areas in Carinthia have received the highest rating.

In Carinthia, which is one of the regions with the most water in Europe with over 1.200 lakes, the conditions for unadulterated bathing are ideal. Most of the lakes have already exceeded the 20 degree mark, and with summer weather forecast to reach over 30 degrees, temperatures are likely to rise to a pleasant 23 degrees soon.

Klaus Ehrenbrandtner, Managing Director of Kärnten Werbung, emphasizes the importance of the excellent water quality for tourism in the region. The current study results underline Carinthia's reputation as an environmentally conscious and sustainable holiday destination that attracts both those seeking relaxation and water sports enthusiasts. The high level of guest satisfaction with the lakes in particular contributes to Carinthia being the preferred travel destination for many holidaymakers.

In addition to the excellent water quality, the Carinthian lakes are characterized by their warmth, which is fed by underground springs and protected from cold air intrusions by their geographical location. These natural conditions make the lakes not only perfect bathing spots, but also popular destinations for families and nature lovers who appreciate the untouched nature and diverse leisure opportunities.
