Cologne / Bonn Airport expects sales in the crisis year 2020 to fall to 220 million euros. The operating result will be at least 50 million euros below the previous year's figure. The workforce is to be reduced through voluntary resignations - against severance payments - and early retirement.

The shareholders will initially help the airport with 75 million euros. The previous chairman of the supervisory board, CDU politician Friedrich Merz, announced his resignation from then on. It is not entirely clear whether this is related to the grant of state aid.

Arndt Klocke and Gerrit Krupp are joining the supervisory board. The outgoing chairman Merz said: "I am very grateful that we have managed to work together in a spirit of trust and success. After the capital increase, the airport is well positioned for the coming months despite the serious consequences of the corona pandemic."
