Condor is now offering its customers the opportunity to make voluntary climate contributions to offset the CO2 emissions of their flights and support climate protection projects. This measure is part of the airline's comprehensive sustainability program, which also includes the modernization of its fleet.
When booking, customers can choose between different packages that promote the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and selected climate protection projects. Three specific projects in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean were selected together with the climate protection organization myclimate. These include the expansion of agroforestry in German-speaking countries, low-emission stoves in Kenya and a solar power plant in the Dominican Republic. The climate contributions can be determined during booking or subsequently up to departure.
Condor also informs its guests about the average CO2 emissions of their booked seat and offers eight different climate packages. The smallest package offsets 50 kg of CO2 and costs EUR 19,99. Customers also have the option of offsetting larger amounts of CO2, for example to cover the journey to the airport.
Condor CEO Peter Gerber emphasized that sustainability is an essential part of the corporate culture and is crucial for long-term business success. The airline supports the aviation industry's goal of being CO2050-neutral by 2 and is committed to a significant fleet renewal. Since March 2024, only new A330neo aircraft have been used on long-haul routes. 43 A32Xneo aircraft have been ordered for short- and medium-haul routes to continue the modernization of the fleet.
