The successful continuing education series "AI IN TOURISM," an initiative of the Lower Austrian Tourist Board and the House of Digitalization, will continue from June 2025. The aim of the free workshops is to familiarize tourism businesses in Lower Austria with the fundamentals and practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) so that they can implement AI-supported measures in their businesses.

Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner emphasized the need for tourism businesses to meaningfully integrate digital developments and emphasized that the workshop series offers guidance and incentives for actively exploring AI potential. Since the series' launch, more than 440 participants from all six tourism destinations in Lower Austria have taken advantage of the offering. The feedback demonstrated a strong interest in practical content.

The new series of workshops was developed in collaboration with Philipp-Thomas Müller, an expert in data-driven marketing with a focus on AI-supported product development and marketing. The events are intended to provide concrete answers to questions businesses may have, for example, on improving booking processes, using AI in guest service, and increasing efficiency in communication. The House of Digitalization emphasizes the relevance of AI in everyday tourism and the importance of companies learning how to use AI effectively.

The workshops will provide both basic knowledge and the use of specific AI tools. An important component is the exchange of experiences between companies and expert support. The free events will take place at various locations in Lower Austria: on June 4 at the House of Digitalization in Tulln, on June 5 at the RelaxResort Kothmühle in Neuhofen an der Ybbs, on June 18 at Haindorf Castle in Langenlois, and on June 23 at the University of Applied Sciences Wiener Neustadt.
