Interest in Easter air travel has increased significantly among Czech holidaymakers this year. Compared to the previous year, airline ticket sales recorded a 27 percent increase. While European cities such as Paris, Copenhagen, and Málaga topped the list in 2024, Dubai topped the list of most popular travel destinations in 2025. Exotic destinations such as the Maldives, Mauritius, and New York also made it into the top 10.

Dubai is particularly popular, recording the strongest year-on-year increase in bookings at 153 percent. The Maldives grew by 68 percent, while other long-haul destinations such as New York and Miami also saw higher booking numbers. At the same time, the average travel duration over the Easter holidays has increased – it is around eight days in 2025, compared to five days last year.

Although Prague remains the most important departure airport for Czech travelers, accounting for 53 percent of flights, interest in flights from Vienna has increased. The share of departures from the Austrian capital grew by three percent to a total of 13 percent. This trend indicates that travelers are increasingly using airports close to the border to benefit from more attractive connections or lower prices.

Airfares for popular travel destinations have risen significantly in some cases. Flights to Dubai, in particular, rose by 23 percent, while connections to Athens even rose by 28 percent. In contrast, ticket prices to the Maldives fell by six percent. To offer travelers more flexibility, Student Agency Travel introduced its so-called Koala Insurance this year. This allows for free cancellation of flight tickets up to 48 hours before departure, without giving a reason.
