Discover Airlines significantly expands its flight offerings to Morocco

Discover Airlines has announced a significant expansion of its route network for the 2026/27 winter season. Starting at the end of October 2026, the Lufthansa Group-owned leisure airline will add two new destinations in Morocco to its flight schedule. The coastal city of Agadir will be served twice weekly from Frankfurt, while a new direct connection to the imperial city of Fes in the northeast of the country will launch from Munich. This move addresses the increasing demand for North African destinations and establishes what is currently the only direct connection to Fes from Munich.

The new flight connections are part of a strategic cooperation with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), which was recently reaffirmed at the ITB Berlin tourism trade fair. The aim of this partnership is to significantly increase tourism capacity between Germany and Morocco. This coming winter, Discover Airlines will offer up to 16 weekly flights to three Moroccan destinations, with Marrakech remaining the main hub with up to 13 flights per week. Flight times for the new routes to Agadir and Fes are approximately four hours each and will primarily be operated with Airbus A320 family aircraft.

With the addition of Agadir, the airline is targeting classic beach and activity tourism on the Atlantic coast, while the connection to Fes primarily appeals to culturally minded travelers. Fes, with its UNESCO World Heritage-listed old city, is considered one of the country's most important cultural centers. Industry observers view this move as part of a consolidation in the medium-haul leisure flight segment, as Morocco, with its stable winter climate, offers an attractive alternative to the Canary Islands or Egypt. This expansion also strengthens Discover Airlines' position against competitors in the low-cost and charter sectors.

Additional market analyses show that Morocco has consistently expanded its infrastructure for international tourism in recent years. This includes both the modernization of regional airports and the expansion of hotel capacity in coastal regions. Thanks to close ties with the Lufthansa distribution system, the new flights are of great importance not only to individual travelers but also to major tour operators. Tickets for the winter season are already available through the usual booking platforms and travel agencies, with flights on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays allowing for flexible travel planning.
