Dortmund Airport closed the 2024/2025 Christmas holidays with a total of 145.695 passengers, a decrease of 4,9 percent compared to the previous year. The airport cites the fact that the Christmas holidays were one day shorter as the reason for the decrease. Nevertheless, individual flight connections proved to be particularly popular due to high capacity utilization.

The most popular destinations over the holidays were Chişinău, Varna, Rome and London. Flights to Bucharest, Tirana and Sofia were also particularly busy. However, Katowice remained the most popular destination: the route operated by Wizz Air and Ryanair recorded the highest number of connections during the holiday period with 126 flights.

The busiest day was Saturday, December 28, when 105 aircraft movements and 9.869 passengers were recorded. The airport's current flight schedule will remain in place until the end of March, before the summer season begins.
