Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports had a combined 2.310.501 passengers in the first nine months of the current year. This meant an increase of 29,3 percent compared to the same period last year.

Leipzig/Halle Airport counted 1.604.935 passengers from January to September, around 39 percent more than in the previous year. There was particularly strong demand for flights to holiday regions around the Mediterranean, the Red and Black Seas and the Atlantic. Around three quarters of all passengers from Leipzig/Halle took advantage of these offers for their holiday trip.

705.566 passengers used Dresden Airport in the first nine months, 11,9 percent more than in the previous year. Significant growth has been recorded, among other things, in connections to the international hubs Frankfurt, Amsterdam and Zurich, through which Dresden is connected to the global network of Lufthansa, KLM and Swiss.
