Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The EU Commission has approved Avi Alliance's takeover of Athens Airport under the EU Merger Regulation.

The Commission concluded that the notified operation did not raise competition concerns as the companies do not operate in the same or vertically related markets. The notified transaction was examined within the framework of the simplified merger control procedure.

Previously, the ownership shares were divided between the Hellenic Republic (Greek State) and the private sector within a public-private partnership of 55%-45%. Private investors included the Copelouzos Group (5%) and PSP Investments from Canada (40%).
